Once Human 2.2.2 Update: Meteor Summoner, New Tutorial, and More
Once Human Version 2.2.2 update patch notes reveal generous rewards, smoother onboarding, and explosive new gameplay changes for survivors.
As a battle-hardened Meta who has survived countless apocalypses in Once Human, I can tell you that the Version 2.2.2 update, which launched on November 26, 2025, was a game-changer. Even now, in 2026, its ripples are still felt across every server. The maintenance began at 4:00 PM PT and wrapped up in about two hours—though, as always, actual times varied. The download size was hefty: approximately 14.93 GB on PC launchers, 126 MB on the PC client, 714 MB on Android, and 882 MB on iOS. I made sure to download over Wi-Fi, and I strongly suggest you do the same. Oh, and a quick heads-up for Steam users: if the update gets delayed, you might end up downloading it more than once.
After the maintenance, all players received a generous care package. I logged in and immediately claimed my rewards: Starchrom ×1,000, Mitsuko's Mark ×100, Starwish Token ×300, Blueprint Conversion Attempt ×3, and a Shop discount coupon that lets me spend 500 Crystgin and save 100. Not bad, right?
Here's a quick breakdown of what we got:
| Reward | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Starchrom | 1,000 |
| Mitsuko's Mark | 100 |
| Starwish Token | 300 |
| Blueprint Conversion Attempt | 3 |
| Shop Discount Coupon | Spend 500 Crystgin, save 100 |
Now, let's dive into the meat of the update. I'll walk you through the highlights, from the revamped login system to the explosive new game mode.
🎮 New Login and Registration System
To help players better select and understand scenarios, the developers revamped the login and registration system. The visual and interactive upgrade features clearer scenario highlights and a streamlined server selection process. I found it much easier to jump into my preferred scenario without confusion.
🧑🎨 Improved Character Creation
Character creation also got a facelift. Now, you select your preferred scenario before creating a character. This small change makes a big difference—it helps you start your adventure more quickly and clearly. I appreciated the streamlined flow.
🔐 Simplified Login Screen
The login screen is now less cluttered. Less-used functions have been moved to the Settings menu, accessible via the Settings button. It's a cleaner look, and I'm all for it.

🧪 New Novice Tutorial Gray-Box Test
The novice experience has been redeveloped to provide clearer tutorials and help new players adapt to the scenario system. After the update, some newly registered accounts in select regions were randomly selected to gray-box test the new novice experience. Here's what I learned from the official Q&A:
-
What content does the new novice tutorial include? It features changes to missions and narrative, letting players experience the appeal of various scenarios under Once Human's "eternal return" setting.
-
Which regions are included? North America, Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Republic of Korea, and Japan.
-
What's the purpose? To monitor and optimize server performance, as the new tutorial may affect stability.
-
When will it officially launch? If testing goes smoothly, it's planned for late December 2025, available to all players on all global servers.
-
Can I volunteer? No—about 20% of newly registered accounts in select regions are randomly selected. Voluntary sign-up is not supported.
-
How will I be affected? You'll play as normal, but you'll experience the new tutorial. Bugs may still be present; report them via the Co-Dev Feedback Platform.
I wasn't selected, but I'm eager to see the full launch.
📸 Camera Mode Improvements
Camera mode got some love too. New preset templates now include customizable lighting, movement, and lens settings, allowing you to take beautiful photos with a single click! Plus, you can now customize wind direction and intensity. Wind effects apply to your character, making photos more dynamic. I've already snapped some epic shots.

🏝️ Heart-Shaped Island Changes
Heads up, builders! To prepare for future themed events, free construction was disabled on the eastern heart-shaped island after the December 10, 2025 update, and the area became a Safe Zone for events. The affected scenarios are Manibus, Endless Dream, Evolution's Call, Prismverse's Clash, and Deviation: Survive, Capture, Preserve. If you had a territory there, it was automatically recalled. I hope you relocated in time!
🎁 New Wish Machine Prize Pools
Starting December 3, 2025, at 4:30 PM PT, three new Wish Machine prize pools became available for three weeks:
-
Corrosive Surge: Includes the Legendary weapon blueprint: Corrosion.
-
Anti-Gas Surge: Includes Legendary gear blueprints: Gas Mask Hood, Bastille Jacket, Bastille Pants, and Bastille Mask.
-
Composite Bomb: Includes the Legendary weapon blueprint: Compound Bow.
I've been saving my wishes for Corrosion—it looks like a beast.
⚡ Lightforge Loot Crate: Thunder Overlord
"Born in darkness and forged in furious thunder, this ultimate weapon exists to slay gods and bring an era to its end." That's the tagline for the new Lightforge Loot Crate: Thunder Overlord, available after the November 26 update. It includes:
-
Techwear Light Zone furniture pack (Legendary)
-
Celestial Skyrend fashion set (Legendary)
-
Abyssal Annihilation - SKS weapon skin (Legendary)
-
Divine Carving Void Wings skin (Hype)
-
Obsidian Cheetah territory collectible (Hype)
The Techwear Light Zone is dyeable and features interactive furniture like the Light Domain Hologram Device and the Lightwheel Hoop with a special riding interaction. I'm a sucker for furniture packs, so this is tempting.

🛒 Group Buy Fest
Buy collectively to unlock rebates of up to 3,000 Crystgin per week! For two weeks only, the Group Buy Fest event lets you start a Group Buy to immediately receive a 10% Crystgin rebate. When others join, all members get a 5% Crystgin rebate, with a chance to trigger up to a 5× multiplier. Participating products include the limited-time rerun Doomsday Lifestyle, new cosmetics, and various older items. The event ran:
-
Period 1: November 26, post-update (PT) – December 1, 6:00 AM (server time)
-
Period 2: December 4, 6:00 AM (server time) – December 8, 6:00 AM (server time)
I organized a few Group Buys with my squad and scored some sweet rebates.

🛍️ Limited Shop Reruns
Several popular items returned:
-
Doomsday Lifestyle theme pack (Epic Hype), Aerial character set (Epic Hype), and Hop Hoopla vehicle skin made their return. "Even in the apocalypse, I must seize my happiness!" was the vibe.
-
Hearthside Courtyard furniture pack (Epic) arrived on December 4 at 6:00 AM server time. "The courtyard is cool, the fire is warm, and friends gather to share old joys once more." Perfect for a cozy base.
-
Skyline set (Rare) also launched on December 4. "With energy maxed and power unleashed, the skyline rushes toward you in an instant."
All these were included in the Group Buy Fest, so you could save even more.

🏅 Meta Bounty New Medals
New medals were added to Meta Bounty. I headed to Shop > Meta Bounty and unlocked the Electricity Workshop and Element Apprentice medals in the Exploration category. "Feel the power of the elements!" they said. I'm working on earning them all.

🎨 New Territory Furniture Dyes
Customization fans, rejoice! New territory furniture dyes arrived:
-
Premium dyes in Shop > Redeem: Gilded Bronze, Woolen Green, and Denim Blue.
-
Designer's Workstation dyes: Taro Purple, Lemon Yellow, and Summer Blue, unlockable through Activity tasks.
I've been mixing and matching to make my territory stand out. It's addictive.

☄️ New Game Mode: Meteor Summoner
The headline feature for me was the new game mode: Meteor Summoner. This doomsday war machine is the most fearsome weapon on the battlefield. Here's how it works:
-
Fight for the War Machine: The Meteor Summoner spawns randomly on the map. It takes 5 minutes to manifest, after which it can be driven freely. Its location is marked, and all Metas can try to seize it. A battle is unavoidable!
-
Death from Above: If you commandeer it, you can summon meteors. It fires one meteor by default, but you can feed it Meteor Fragments to greatly increase damage. The meteor can only be summoned above a territory. Select a target and unleash devastation on your enemy's base!
-
The Ultimate Weapon: The meteor strike inflicts massive destruction, making it a strategic weapon to overcome tough defenses and break deadlocks. After unleashing the meteor, the Meteor Summoner is destroyed.
I've already witnessed a meteor obliterate a rival clan's base. It was spectacular.
