It is April 2026, and Once Human’s custom servers have just received an update that makes a server host feel less like a caretaker and more like a gleeful director of tiny disasters. The April 23 patch is enormous. It adds an exclusive game mode, new settings, new items, leaderboards, monthly rewards, and a fresh incentive system for hosts. At the center of it all is Hyper Brawl, a mode built specifically for Once Human: RaidZone custom servers, entering an Online Co-Dev Test on April 23.

The Hyper Brawl Circle of Consequences

Hyper Brawl hands server hosts a beautifully simple power: the restricted zone. The host can pick their current coordinates as the center and set a radius. Every player is then forced to fight inside that glowing circle. Leave the circle, and the server politely removes you from the match via death. Hosts can also grant themselves the right to ignore the zone, letting them float in and out or watch the chaos with a bird’s eye view.

This is not a mode for defensive architects. The host can increase player damage and cut respawn cooldowns to create non-stop mayhem. They can lower building plate limits and ban certain defensive facilities, pushing everyone into direct confrontations. For hosts who are still staring at the settings like a confused owl, game mode templates arrive to handle the quick setup.

Hosts can open their personal facilities for the entire server, establishing neutral supply points or fortified positions. They can also shrink Hive sizes to a minimum of one player, which prevents large teams from steamrolling matches and keeps combat small-scale, tactical, and fair.

An Economy Where Bullets Pay Rent

RaidZone Chips are the core currency in this mode, and the update gives hosts precise control over their flow. Hosts can configure initial backpack contents, kill drops, online rewards, and more. They can even make RaidZone Chips the primary objective through leaderboard settings.

This creates a self-sustaining loop: fight to earn chips, then spend those chips in the Server Host Shop to buy supplies for the next fight. The host can configure drop rules for various chips, and players can spend their earnings based on progression needs. The goal is winning through smart resource management, not just faster trigger fingers.

Events That Actually Reward Your Time

Custom servers are not just for hosts. The new play reward event launches April 22 after the update and runs through May 31, 2026. Players simply reach the required total playtime in a Custom Server to unlock Starchrom ×1,000, Stardust Secret Crate S12 (Epic), Meta Pass 3-Day Trial, and more.

A second event from April 22 through May 13 offers a limited avatar and a random premium weapon gift pack for completing required tasks. All cosmetic rewards from these events are account-wide, which means one character’s fancy new hat can be shared across the whole roster.

Host Tools: More Knobs, More Power

The update adds several quality-of-life upgrades for hosts. A customizable announcement now appears when players enter the server, so hosts can instantly explain their weird rules. Hosts can also save up to three scenario setting templates, a small blessing for anyone juggling multiple server ideas.

The new settings available on April 23 include:

  • Opening personal facilities to all players.

  • Reducing Hive capacity to one player.

  • Disabling vehicles.

  • Prohibiting the construction of certain facilities.

  • Issuing Tech Enhancement Points ×1,000, Energy Link ×1,000, and Starchrom ×1,000.

RaidZone-only settings are even wilder. Hosts can modify respawn cooldowns for Territory Terminals, Sleeping Bags, Beds, and Campsites. They can disable Adrenaline Shots, lower territory facility and material limits, and set rewards for killing Metas or for online duration as RaidZone Chips, Energy Links, or Starchrom. All Deviations can now be used in RaidZone mode, and hosts can prohibit crafting certain items. It is a control panel that would make a control freak blush.

New Items, In-Server Shop, and Leaderboards

The patch adds new functional items to RaidZone: Rosetta Bio-Gel, Backpack Expansion, Load Handling, Improved Compound Fertilizer, Giant Crate, Airtight Diving Suit, and Dense Energy Device. Players can spend RaidZone Chips in the In-Server Shop on custom servers.

Two leaderboards now exist: one for kill/death ratios and one for wealth. Players can climb by performing certain actions and win official settlement rewards, plus settlement rewards defined by the server host. The wealth leaderboard ranks players by quantities of specific items obtained. This gives pack rats a chance to shine.

Server Host Level and Engagement Score

Hosts now get their own progression. The Server Host Level is a three-tier system based on a server’s Engagement Score. Higher tiers unlock more official support and benefits. The Engagement Score formula is simple:

Metric Weight
New Players + Returning Players × 20
Active Players × 5

Tiers go from Community to Vanguard to Meta-Human. Promotion updates on the first day of each calendar month, using the average daily Engagement Score from the previous month. To qualify for promotion, a host must operate the server for at least seven days during that month. Servers operated for fewer than seven days default to the Public tier in the following month. This pushes hosts to keep servers alive instead of letting them become digital ghost towns.

Final Thoughts

Once Human’s April 2026 custom server update turns server hosts into architects of absurdity. Hyper Brawl, flexible settings, new items, leaderboards, and monthly rewards all make RaidZone custom servers more attractive than ever. Whether someone is an experienced host or a curious newcomer, now is the perfect time to jump in and cause some carefully managed trouble.
